About Crystal Lake Golf Club
Mike Maroney was born in Haverhill, MA, where he has spent his life investing in the community where he was raised. He is the founder of Maroney Construction, a successful 33 year-old company that has built over 250 homes in Haverhill and the surrounding area. Mike purchased Crystal Springs Golf Course, a Haverhill landmark for over 50 years, in 2010 and began the process of rebranding it as the Crystal Lake Golf Club.
Mike Maroney’s main intention in reviving Crystal Lake Golf Club is to establish it as the area’s premier destination for golf–and for living. Maroney Construction is in the process of building 50 quality colonial and ranch style homes on the golf course, each one with course views. With 22 experienced and knowledgeable golf course employees, Mike’s vision is to turn Crystal Lake Golf Club into an affordable, quality golf course and a vibrant upscale residential community.
Jerome brings to Crystal Lake Golf Club more than 15 years of experience at golf clubs throughout the Northeast. Most recently he served as course superintendent at Renaissance Golf Club in Haverhill. O’Donnell is responsible for overseeing optimal course conditions and is supervising several course improvements at Crystal Lake. He is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and the Golf Course Association of New England.
Peter is responsible for golf operations and ensuring exceptional golf experiences at Crystal Lake Golf Club. A Class A PGA Professional and Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) member, he is former general manager/head golf professional at Bradford Country Club and a former assistant golf professional at Atkinson Resort & Country Club. A resident of Haverhill, Vlahos attended Salem State College and the Golf Academy of South Orlando in Florida.

In 1960, plans for one of the finest golf courses in New England were put in motion. Geoffrey Cornish of Cornish Golf Design oversaw and designed the 18-hole Crystal Springs Golf Course in Haverhill. Over the period of many years the course would serve both members and the general public.
In 2010, the Maroney family acquired the golf club and immediately began to rebrand the club with the name Crystal Lake Golf Club. The course has begun an amazing transformation in both restoration and enhancement. In the near future, the club will be home to a new clubhouse, event space and a fifty home residential community. The Maroney family promises to be integral part of the community as well as pay specific attention to details in making the Crystal Lake Golf Club the premier destination in the Merrimack Valley.
